Operating in solid fuel, maritime and food sectors, Safi Holding maintains its initiatives in the field of "port management" as a sector that continuously develops with its broad vision

Derince Port, which was included in the scope of privatization with the method of "Transfer of Operating Rights" based on the decision of the High Council of Privatization dated 30.12.2004 and numbered 2004/128, was awarded to Safi Katı Yakıt Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş.-Safi Derince, which won the tender for the purpose of operating the port for a period of 39 years.

Safi Derince Uluslararası Liman İşletmeciliği A.Ş, which is a part of Safi Holding, took over the port by making a cash payment of 543 million USD to the Republic of Turkey Prime Ministry Privatization Authority on Wednesday, February 25th. Derince Port is operated by Safi Derince Uluslararası Liman İşletmeciliği A.Ş. as of March 2, 2015.

Derince Port, the construction of which was started in 1900 by the Anatolian Baghdad Railway Company, was commissioned in 1904 and transferred to the Republic of Turkey State Railways Authority in 1953. As of March 2015, the port continues its operations under the management of Safi Derince Uluslararası Liman İşletmeciliği A.Ş. within the scope of privatization.
